This policy explains how TheQuestLab CIC(“we”, “us”), a community interest company based in Kingston upon Hull, collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use this website, get in touch with us, or take part in our programmes. We keep it as plain-English as we can.

Who we are

We are TheQuestLab CIC, 6 Garrowby Walk, Kingston upon Hull HU5 5QX, United Kingdom. We are the “data controller” for the personal information we hold about you. You can reach us at info@thequestlab.co.uk.

What we collect

• When you use our enquiry forms, your name, email address, phone number (optional), business or organisation name, and whatever you write in your message.
• When you opt in to analytics, anonymous, aggregated information about how visitors use the site (pages viewed, rough location, device type). We use Google Analytics for this.
• Technical data, your IP address and basic server logs, collected automatically by our web host when any website is visited. This is standard and used only for security and to keep the site working.
• When you join our community or programmes, details you share with us directly, such as your interests or support needs, so we can help you properly.

Why we collect it

We never sell your data, and we never use it for anything other than what you'd reasonably expect from contacting us.

Who we share it with

• Formspree, processes and stores the form submissions you send us (name, email, message). We chose them because they're UK/EU-friendly and data-protection compliant.
• Google Analytics, only receives anonymised usage data, and only if you've accepted analytics cookies.
• Google Fonts, loads the fonts used on this site; standard requests are made to Google's servers when pages load.
• Our web host, stores the website files and standard server logs.
• Anyone you've clearly asked us to share with, for example, a partner or sponsor you've asked us to introduce you to.

We won't share your personal information with anyone else unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry messages and your contact details for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for a short period afterwards so we can follow up properly. After that, we delete them. You can ask us to delete your data at any time, see your rights below.

Cookies

This site uses a small number of cookies. We only load non-essential ones (like analytics) with your consent.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:

• see a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• ask us to correct anything inaccurate
• ask us to delete your personal information
• ask us to limit how we use your data
• object to how we use it (including for marketing)
• take your data somewhere else (“data portability”)
• withdraw any consent you've given, at any time

To exercise any of these, just email info@thequestlab.co.uk. We'll respond within one month, free of charge. If you're not happy with how we handle your data, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Children

This website is aimed at adults (18+) and young professionals. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page whenever we change how we handle data. The date at the top shows when it was last reviewed. If we make a significant change, we'll make it obvious when you visit.
